SEAS has recently been performing Wetland Reserve Easement (WRE) Surveys for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) program in southern Georgia. Each of these surveys are unique as they are often in challenging terrain where wetlands are present. SEAS performs a boundary survey of the overall parcel for each easement, then produces a survey of the specific area that is designated to go into a WRE easement. Each of these easements require extensive monumenting and sign posting along the boundary as well as painting / blazing trees on each line. Many of these surveys are along various water bodies where water rights must be determined. WRE easements play a crucial role in protecting wildlife habitats, improving water quality, reducing flooding, and more. Want to learn more?
